This is a version change,
not just a service pack.
The service pack number is reset to zero.
After installing this version, each workstation, server, or application
database
will be automatically processed the first time you open it.
You will be asked for comfirmation before any processing is performed,
and as a precaution, a backup is made automatically before each conversion.
Payroll paylist table performance improved significantly.
Functionality was added to custom analysis views.
These changes only affect the custom analysis view of a table of accounts (a blue table).
The previous version had View>Analysis>New Amount and View>Analysis>New Difference commands for adding columns to display an amount or the difference between two other columns respectively. These have been renamed to View>Analysis>New Column>Amount and View>Analysis>New Column>Difference. In addition, the following commands have been added:
View>Analysis>New Column>Percent Change
A column can now be used to display the difference between two other columns as a percent. For example, this feature might be used to display the percent by which this year's sales changed from last year's sales.
View>Analysis>New Column>Percent Of
A column can now be used to display one column as a percent of another. For example, this feature might be used to display the year-to-date financial amounts as a percent of the full year's budget amounts.
View>Analysis>New Column>Percent Of Account
A column can now display amounts as a percent of the corresponding amount for any selected account. For example, this feature might be used to display customer balances as a percent of total receivables.
BUG FIX: Editing was inadvertantly allowed in a pick window.
Under very rare circumstances, editing of field values was allowed in a window that is normally used to pick values. Normally the user cannot edit the fields presented in a pick window. This bug also allowed the editing to take place regardless of security access.
BUG FIX: NewViews would not install or run on certain computers.
NewViews could not be installed on a small set of target computers that may have had Windows registry problems. This service pack works around the Windows registry problems.
Note that although NewViews does not modify the Windows registry in any way, NewViews does read the Window registry to gather information about the current Windows user, printer devices, and so on.
